BarryBar
BarryBar was a piece of software for Windows used to access BarrysWorld's subscriber-only servers after it went commercial in 2001. The original BarryBar software was written by Eurogamer, but was subsequently substantially rewritten internally.
It authenticated the user with BarrysWorld's subscription system and acted as server browser for a large number of BW-supported FPS games including; Quake, Quake 2, Quake 3 Arena, Unreal Tournament, UT2003, Tribes, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Battlefield:1942, Half-Life, and of course, Counter-Strike. In addittion the BarryBar also supported lobbies for peer-to-peer games such as Age of Empires, Cossacks, and Command & Conquer etc.
It was renamed after the Game.Net rebranding and mothballed in 2003.
Trebz The unlucky soul, had the wonderful job of maintaining and supporting this abomination!
