Spam wars
Back in the early days of BarrysWorld posting was a fairly casual affair, mainly related to games, servers or pr0n. Over time though the fact that the main page showed the top five posters led to competition. Early scoreboards were topped by the likes of Embattle, TUG, Kez and Frankie.
Things started to hot up when a certain dutchie called Testin_da_Cable started to post in earnest. Besides talking about games and shit he had the dedication and bloody-mindedness to concentrate whole-heartedly on raising his post-count.
Soon the leaderboard looked roughly like:
TdC was gaining fast, even having his own S.P.A.M. thread. Indeed the usage of the accusation of spamming on the forums probably dates from around the time TdC started to post in earnest.
Around this time though a friend of some of the BarrysWorld crew who worked with those still at the Halifax bank, decided that an occasional post about lag-spikes on UT servers was not enough and made his way from the UT forums to the General Forum. This new spammer was called Wij and his brand of frenzied spamming rivalled TdC's but with more toilet humour and obsession with poo.
TdC and Wij gained fast on Embattle and TUG but some renewed effort on their part meant that they beat the new spammers to the magic 2,000 posts and the rank of Forum Deity.

Soon afterwards TdC and Wij left the others behind as the undisputed spam-kings, joined for a year or so by Wazzerphuk. The three often used to take it in turns to reply to every single thread on the first page of the General Forum until their name was the only one visible. Often several times a day. Work internet filters were less draconion in those days.
Eventually Wij won the race to 10,000. Closely followed by TdC. Soon afterwards DBs started measures to end the vile spamming which plagued his very being...
Non-BW spam
One day Wij and TdC noticed the forums had been visited by members of the Jolt forums who had made some unkind remarks. Feeling that the BW honour was at stake the pair left behind their familiar green-pastures. "If I take one more step then it's the furthest from home (apart from pr0n sites) that I've ever been", said TdC. Soon the Fellowship arrived in the strange bluish world. Spying something as tempting as the bootom of a playground-slide to a drunken nonce, they pounced upon the "Spam Forum". Clocking up about 300 posts each in a few short hours caused the pale Joltites something of a panic. "Something has to be done about this!!!1", they cried. The Fellowship was reported to the Joltite mods but what could they do ? The forum was there purely for spam but they had never thought that spam could occur with such ferocity and by such a fine pair of dandies. Satified that their achievements would never be bested the fellowship went home only to find that Saruman had been written out of the third film...
Ex-BW spam
When the BarrysWorld forums were threatened with closure in ???? a new forum was set up at ??? by ??? and many of the Forumites posted there for a while. It wasn't as green but some fun was had.
Oh... and Wij won with 600+ posts :D
