TdC is an old [[BarrysWorld]] member who moved to [[FreddysHouse]] when the end of BW occured. Nowadays he spams considerably less, doesn't have sex with [[Wij]] and mods the [[General Forum]] when he's awake.

TdC used to be a unix nerd but right now he's not really sure if he still likes that. He also enjoys mountain biking, mucking about on the interweb, long and relaxing [[p00]]s, drawing stuff for FH, being [[yoghurted]] and any woman who comes too close :-)

Recently TdC has been spotted in the [[DAoC]] [[Off Topic]] forum (written about [[Freddys_OT|here]], where he conspired to get people he didn't know to post pics of their bottoms scrawled with strange incantations.

== ye olden daze ==
TdC first came to BarrysWorld after he spent a very frustrating evening playing [[Unreal]] trying to kill some people who just wouldn't die. Normally one would conclude that this was because Teedles sucks badly at most FPS games, but these guys really...just...wouldn't...die... and very nearly caused TdC to expire by frustration fueled explosive flatulence. So, a day or two after the near-explosion TdC entered something along the lines of "unreal cheats" into a search engine and promptly discovered a thread on [[BarrysWorld]] by a bloke called [[Borg]] discussing fair play in games in general. Teedles was so glad to have found a haven of like-minded people that he promptly signed up and probably made his greatest forum post ever. Much along the lines of

:Hi! My name is testin_da_cable and I think cheats are lame just like Borg does it's nice here :)

Naturally TdC had no idea what he was letting himself become addicted to. Within a few months he was a crusty shell of his former self, working or sitting at home bathed in the glow of several CRT's. It even came to the point that he changed his work desktop backgrount to a certain shade of green so that his coworkers couldn't tell if he was on the forums or not.

Growing in to the world class spammer he was to become, TdC managed to nudge out [[TUG]], [[Embattle]], [[User:Wij|Wij]] and some other people (sorry guys) to become top poster at BW at something like 15000 posts. Naturally the content was pish, but Teedles was proud of his dedicated effort, especially when he got together with his mate [[User:Wij|Wij]] and gave rival games emporium [http://www.jolt.co.uk Jolt] the shock of their life by visiting their forums and racking up a huge amount of posts, friendly banter and upset people using rather nasty words in a very short time. Teedles was amazed to find that the joltsters actually knew who he and [[User:Wij|Wij]] were, and seemed to be in awe of the spamming duo's prowess at the keyboard.

TdC mellowed out a bit as he got older, drank less coffee and lessened [[masturbation|wacking off]] to interweb [[pr0n]] like a spastic monkey on crack (lies!). He likes to think his posts have improved content-wise (super lies!), and there are moments where he likes to believe that the fact that he and other people, by merely keeping at it and keeping up talking to others, have averted disaster now and then.

== Games ==
Yes, TdC likes playing all kinds of games. Amongst others and in random order he's played: [[Doom]], [[Doom 2]], [[Doom 3]], [[Unreal]], [[Unreal Tournament]], [[Tribes 2]], [[Quake 2]], [[Call of Duty]], [[Call of Duty 2]], [[Neverwinter Nights]] (with the [[Shadows of Undrentide]] and [[Hordes of the Underdark]] expansions), TES:[[Morrowind]], TES:[[Oblivion]], [[Battlefield 2]], [[Elite]], [[Half-Life]], [[Half-Life 2]], [[Duke Nukem 3d]], X2:The Threat, Privateer 2:The Darkening, [[Red Alert]], [[Civilisation II]], [[Civilization IV]], [[Warhammer:Dawn of War]], [[Dawn of War:Winter Assault]] and scores of others that failed to make enough of an impression to remember or simply just got forgotten. He still wistfully lusts after [[Dark Messiah of Might and Magic]] and is playing [[Battlefield 2142]] and [[Warhammer:Mark of Chaos]] badly .

Mostly this means that TdC enjoys shooting things with large hand-cannons, but sometimes dabbles in the odd [[RPG]], space-opera or [[RTS]] on the side.

On Thursday the 24th of May 2007, TdC played his first ever online game of [[CSS]] with [[Jupitus]], [[Throdgrain]], [[Trem]], [[Dukat]] and some of the other lads from [[Killemall|KEA]]. During the swearing and bouts of drunken singing he managed to score a 0.3 K/D ratio, meaning that he was dead most of the time, but he had a lot of fun even though the KEA people prolly found him somewhat [[Silence|quiet]] :-) Most notable event during the games was that TdC was somewhat better than Jupitus ;-)

== Anti-Games ==
TdC tend to get a bit pissed off by foolish people in the world who try to blame violent video games for random acts of violence that occur in the world. He sometimes writes about these blamings on [http://www.alphanor.org his website] and usually duplicates his more sarcastic ramblings [http://forums.freddyshouse.com/showthread.php?t=213182 to the FreddysHouse forums]. Also, the foolish people should be aware that TdC plays lots of violent video games and is thus by their reckoning an extremely dangerous individual and shouldn't be messed with too much.

Incidentally, TdC blames all violence in the world on kittens, as everyone knows that kittens are extremely evil death-machines that wish humanity no good at all.

== Community ==
TdC is somewhat active in the FH general community, usually trying to get other people to do stuff they'd normally do just fine without his meddling, expose parts of themselves, be creative or otherwise do communityesque things together. He tends to use competitions to galvanize unsuspecting forumites into swathes of frantic action, most often with a homemade prize waiting at the end of the tunnel for the lucky (debatable) winner. Recently TdC was responsible for the DAoC OT fan-sign competition, won by [[Ezteq]], and a quickie one-off best wikipage competition, once again in the DAoC OT forum which was won jointly by [[Gamah]] and [[old.Tohtori]].
It is rumored that TdC is plotting more fun and games for the future....

TdC makes the promised prizes himself, using a free image manipulation program called [http://www.gimp.org GIMP], but as he's barely started to get on it he's in no way, shape or form ''good'' at it :) (as [[Congax]] was kind enough to point out in the forums until he heard from [[old.Tohtori]] that TdC's pics had certain ''special'' properties ;))

Currently TdC is busy (lies) working on designs for things that Freddy may be pimping in the future!

== Mountain Biking ==
Once apon a time in the recent past TdC suffered an accident while biking (one of many) and managed to break his right leg in three places. Dispite vaguely feeling a bit like a lemon, there are now extra metally bits in Teedles' leg making him 101.3% [[L33t|leet]]. Near the end of 2006 the shiny bits were removed again, with the exception of one screw and TdC has reverted to being merely 100.2% leet.
When he's honest TdC admits being scared as hell of the surgeons clamouring to poke him with sharp bits of steel, though his limp has improved slightly since the op. TdC took the titanium bits that the surgeon removed back to his house, and now enjoys freaking people out by touching them with the ti rods.

TdC enjoys building mountain bikes, and has built up several different ones over the years. Currently he owns "only" two, but there are plans to get a road/touring bike thing. One could argue that it may well be that TdC likes to build bikes more than he likes to ride them, but riding is fun too people! Just going up hills is a bit of a pain :/ Currently TdC rides an On-One Scandal, that he has a write-up about on his personal site [http://www.alphanor.org/2007/04/onone_scandal_kicks_arse.html here] and has an North Shore Extreme Bitch, with a write-up [http://www.alphanor.org/2007/08/nsx_bitch_bike_props.html here].

Though TdC pretends to be an avid mountainbiker, there are several people on the forums who severely outclass him in many ways (not only biking), amongst others, [[Will]], who goes on trips to the Alps (steep and high, a combination that causes TdC to break out in twitchy scrote syndrome, when applied to mountain biking) and competes in races and stuffs like that.

Goodies will:

* stand directly between you and the baddies
* stand out next to you while you're trying to hide
* get stuck on walls
* not follow even the simplest of orders
* lose you even though you're within farting distance
* jam in doorways and not allow you through
* die due to a mouse farting 40km away
* become involved in long, meaningful discussion that you can't skip or escape out of in the middle of a melee

Once upon a time, the [[FreddysHouse]] forum allowed the upload of animated gifs as user avatars. And there was much rejoicing. However, some users saw fit to bend this privilege to their own advantage (and it has to be admitted, to those of us who got turned on) and uploaded soft [[pr0n]] animated gifs. And still, there was much rejoicing.

Unfortunately, it transpired that some users actually have jobs, and were worried that these excellent little trinkets of pr0n would place their positions at risk. Thus, these users complained, and there was a great debate (linked below).

By decree, animated gif avatar upload was disabled, and there was much mourning. Some users still proudly exhibit their animated gifs, too afraid to change them and lose their animatednessisms forever.

This led to the loss of classic animated avatars which had been with us since the [[BarrysWorld]] days, such as [[Whipped]]s walking mr floppy avatar and [[Ch3tan]]s A-Team/Knight-Rider avatar.

Doom 3

Doom 3 is a good game the first time you play it, scary in places, funny in others and generally good fun. Sadly it does have a few limitations in terms of linearity and depth, but you dont play a doom game for either of those, do you? SO PICK UP THAT GUN AND START SHOOTING MARINE!!

The great thing about D3 was that you could either see, or shoot. Ofc this got modded right away due to people [[winge|winging]].

The not so great thing was that you could tell miles in advance whenever a [[scripted event]] was about to happen, but even that has it's charms.

Command and Conquer

Command and Conquer is a series of [[RTS]] games where you order other people to do the pew pewing instead of doing it yourself.

Using resource management and tactics, all of the games in the series involve a similar style of gameplay.

The original C&C was released in 1995, and has since branched out into several story arcs:

The Tiberian Series:
The first game made, called "Command and conquer", is normally now referred to as "Tiberian Dawn" due to the fact that it started this story off. It involves tiberian as a resource to be harvested, and is set in a futuristic time period where two factions battle it out for supremacy; The GDI(good guys) and the NOD([[Baddies]]).

The Red Alert Series:
The second game released was called "[[Red Alert]]", and operated in a completely different setting, this one being either a near-future or alternate present style, involving time travel and exaggerated present day/experimental technology such as lasers and electricity weapons.

The premise of the game is that time travel was used to go back and kill Hitler before WW2. as such, WW2 never happened, Russia became much stronger and decided they wanted to make their garden a little bigger, and so invade Europe. The allies, obviously distressed at the idea of the Russians expanding their already massive garden even further, join up and fight them.

The Generals Series:
The generals series is the newest series in the C&C franchise, and is sometimes viewed as the more controversial of the games. Set closer to the present day than Red Alert, Generals involves a war between the USA, China and the GLA - a middle eastern terrorist style army.

Considering the present day real world events, this game sometimes cuts a little to close with its suicide bombers, cruise missiles and nuclear weapons, and has drawn criticism because of this.

Creeper CTF

3 things had a fundamental impact on the emergence of [[BarrysWorld]] from its [[Tortured Souls]] era. The [[UKCL]] (UK Clan League), a [[Quakeworld]] [[Clan]] [[Deathmatch]] league for players of all pings, the MCW (Modem Clan War), similar but limited to [[HPB]]'s and of course Creeper [[CTF]].

Creeper was a fundamental change to [[Zoid]]s "Official" QW CTF Mod in that it added a load of Runes. The number of Runes varied with server implementations depending on what people actually liked to use, as some were over-powered (thats code for fun for non-wimps) and some were bugged.

Each Rune gave a specific Power Up to the player that found it and picked it up (by running over it, no fiddly Use keyes in those days). These Power Ups greatly enhanced teamplay and as a result the Tortured Souls Creeper CTF server was packed, every night for months on end. Additionally, all stats were logged and parsed through a Website with a package running to present all the funky stats and nonsense in an easy to understand and fun way.

The [[UKCL]], [[MCW]] and in particular Creeper CTF drew enough players to the Clans game servers to cause the servers to take on a life of their own and eventually to be split away, with its own website and name.

Formerlly quite a good games developer [[back in the day]], now an evil corperation that makes the Empire from [[Star Wars]] look like someone you'd like to have as a next door neighbour by comparison.

Responsible for the fuxing up of so many games it makes this author cry [[IRL]], there is seemingly no level to which EA will not stoop in order to make a fast buck, movie cash-ins, spin offs and cheap, horrible games are the order of the day.

Those good games that they haven't managed to fux up generally have "that EA feeling" about them that seems to come from a vague dumbing down of any game they touch. Look at command and conquer, as soon as EA takes over they start making games like Generals.

They <i>do</i> make the occasional blockbuster game that even the most staunch critic would find some enjoyment from, but this could easily be attributed to the 1000 monkeys sitting at a typewriter syndrome.

Usual highlights of an EA game:
* freezing at random moments
* briefly freezing just after encountering a [[baddies|baddie]]; when the screen starts moving again you will be dead more often than not
* getting kicked out of the game for unknown reasons
* getting kicked out of the game because the game lost connection with EA's back end infrastructure
* not being able to start the game because EA's back end infrastructure is unavailable
* having to download 500mb patches. sure, there's 495mb's worth of extra maps but the critical patch you need to actually play the game (hopefully) is in there too
* having to go through lots of articles on the interwebnet to discover what others have done to get <game> working because EA won't tell you or fix the issue
* having to disable your firewall because otherwise the game may not work
* having to run the game as administrator because otherwise it will not work

Baddies, or Bad Guys, is a generic term for enemies in games.

The word comes from the phrase "Take that, Baddies!".

A baddie is generally recognized by the fact that they are/have
*Bigger than you
*Better armed than you
*More hitpoints/mana/armor than you
*Faster than you
*A lot more numerous than you
*Often shooting in your general direction (unless they are [[Dysfunction]] in which case he could also be a [[goodie]])
and quite possibly
*smarter than you

In the case of a game like say, [[Ninja Gaiden]], all of the above apply. In a game like [[Battlefield 2]], some apply, but the game is either going to [[crash]] or you're going to get kicked by the [[master server]] and/or [[PunkBuster]] for reasons often unknown (but absolutely no fault of [[EA]]'s. nope, not their fault at all, oh no sirree)
