Bloody Case Sensitiveness getting on my nerves

Make redirects for things like TedTheDog and Tedthedog? Discuss!

-- Someone

Yeah, sadly needs to be done. Obvious just the obvious ones (first letter caps, all lowercase) should redirect to the properly capitalised version. For those who don't know, you can create a redirect to an existing page by typing the following into the Create Page editor:

 #REDIRECT [[PageName]]

It needs to be on *one line*, no line breaks after it.

Current Events Page

Is ‘Current Events’ really the right name for this? Would it be worth renaming (moving) this to something like FreddyWiki:News or FreddyWiki:ForAuthors instead?

I'm into the News thing. Changing.

Wiki Theme

Is the right place to discuss development of the Wiki itself? As in, things like greenification of the stylesheet? I'm reasonably free this week so could probably throw my CSS skillz0r together at a Freddified theme for you Teeds?

that would seriously rock Shovel! you're no doubt aware that there is a mediawiki skins page where users have submitted their own styles and stuff. If you have the time that should get you off to a flying start. Imo you now have leave to play with it all you like, but I must quote a certain Mr Dog, who mentioned that he particularly likes the unofficial feel of this little effort of ours.

OK, well I would like to get some Freddys green on these bland grey pastures but not being the author of the messageboard theme I suspect it'll look reasonably different! I'll see what I can do over the next few days, anyway.

I can get the CSS details for you shovel if you want?

--Someone

No worries, I've got MediaWiki stored on a server of my own so I'm not entirely unfamilar with it. I'm building a new theme offline, based off the default. The default has a lot of hacks and cruft and extranious mark-up that actually makes it a pig to work with so I've trimmed it down as best I can and will start working on some Freddyesque CSS for it this evening. Hopefully have something show-off-able by tomorrow evening. It's going well though.

hmm, my name not next to my post?

why not?

--Someone

After you make a post, either click the signature toolbar button (second from the right) if you have them or type: "--" followed by four (4) tilde characters (~). The tildes insert your name and date automatically. Obviously can't post a copy & pasteable version as they get converted into ‘Shovel blah blah…’
